We are now semi-retired, and Abbots Lee is open for longer stays at considerably reduced rates, and with a light room clean every day.

The Guest dining room is open for breakfast from 8.00am to 10.00am. We provide a fridge freezer, microwave, and kettel. Tea & cafetiere coffee, some basic food items such as breakfast cereals milk, etc. will also be available.

There may be some other food items provided but this is not guaranteed.

We are sorry, but we cannot provide cooking facilities.

Cheltenham is a beautiful Regency spa town well known for its shopping and recreational facilities and wonderful architecture.

Guests can stroll into the town centre and just take it all in, or drive out to the Cotswolds, Stratford, Cirencester, Burford, and many other well known local attractions.

Your hosts, Edwina and Tris have lived in Cheltenham for many years and will be very happy to point you in the direction of the treasure trove of local sights, cultural events, Theaters, and so much more.

What has changed for 2019

Tris and Edwina have retired from the business of running a busy full-time B&B. However guests have told us that they would love to continue to stay at festival times, and for longer periods. So we are offering the rooms on a longer stay basis (2 nights minimum), at roughly half the price we used to charge. The dining room will be open from 08:00am to 10:00am for a continental breakfast or guests can bring their own snacks. Cutlery and crockery will be provided, along with a microwave and fridge/freezer and there will normally be some basic food items in stock such as breakfast cereals etc. But please note that there are NO cooking facilities. Light room cleaning will be carried out every day. We hope that this will be a popular option, and that we will continue to see our loyal customers!

What We are

Abbots Lee is a high quality adults-only establishment in a detached house close to the centre of Cheltenham. At only a few hundred yards from the High Street it is well placed for easy access by car or foot, to the renowned shopping and other attractions to be found in this historic Regency spa town.

Where We Are

The festival area is also only a few hundred yards away, and the world famous racecourse is about a mile and a half. Whether you're in town for one of Cheltenham's numerous festivals, for business, or for the races, or for a wonderful shopping experience, we hope that you will find Abbots Lee a comfortable, well situated base for your trip.

What We Offer

Guests can enjoy free on site, off-street parking for one vehicle per room during their stay, and decide whether to walk to the town centre and festival area. The wide, 2 storey detached house has short, shallow staircases. All rooms are en-suite, and well decorated. Notwithstanding our proximity to the town centre, we are located in a very minor side street, and many of our guests have commented on the peaceful night's sleep they have enjoyed.

To enhance this, your room will be provided with thoughtful touches such as high quality beds, bedding and pillows. Dressing table / desk. Hairdryer with handy plug with USB charging sockets for 'phones, iPad, etc. In-room tea /coffee / hot chocolate facilities, biscuits etc. Quiet all-night fans, Multi-channel flatscreen TV, Trouser press, Guest WiFi network and more. In your en-suite shower room you will find complimentary "Cole and Lewis" toiletries and large fluffy bath sheets warming on your towel rail.

What is Special

We are not a large establishment, which offers the additional benefit of exclusive use, should you take all three rooms. This will allow for a most relaxing stay and we will be able to provide a more individual and personal service. The guest lounge and dining room will then be for the exclusive use of your group. A real "home from home" experience, right in the heart of Cheltenham.

We regret that we cannot accommodate children under 16, babies, or pets. The house is better suited as an adults-only environment.

Room information

We have three guest bedrooms, all with en-suite shower rooms, entirely re-fitted and re-equipped in 2016. The rooms are all available with 6 foot wide (super king size) double bed or two 3 foot wide singles. The beds are 1500 pocket spring.

All rooms have complimentary coffee and tea making facilities, Desks / Dressing tables and drawers, Flat screen TV with 50+ channel Freeview TV and DAB radio reception, USB charging ports, WiFi, Trouser press, Luggage racks, All-night fans, Hairdryers and note pads. The en-suite shower rooms have complimentary toiletries, heated towel rails, and illuminated vanity and face mirrors. There is a small guest 'fridge adjacent to the guest rooms, for guests to use for their own supplies.

Additional guest facilities and breakfast

Downstairs there is an elegant guest lounge with comfortable family seating, and also the guest dining room, which is available to guests between 8.00am and 10.00am. Abbots Lee is no longer providing cooked breakfast. In the dining room there will be items for a basic continental breakfast.

Nightly room rates are from around £59 weekdays and around £69 weekends, depending on season, inclusive of one parking space per room. Rates may vary, but will still be well below our previous Bed and Breakfast rates.
